Federica Iannella e Giuliana Maccaroni hanno presentato live (organo Pinchi), ieri sera (24 luglio 2008) a Senigallia (Ancona, Italy), in concomitanza del Festival Organistico Internazionale, nella Chiesa di Santa Maria della Neve detta del Portone, la loro nuova produzione discografica. Le Sinfonie di Rossini sono state trascritte per organo a quattro mani dalle stesse organiste e sono disponibili in CD, registrato in prima mondiale per la Tactus.
Polifonie coinvolgenti hanno incantato e fatto fremere gli animi degli ascoltatori presenti che hanno reagito con interminabili calorosi applausi. Brave !
Federica Iannella e Giuliana Maccaroni sono direttori artistici del Festival Organistico Internazionale Città di Senigallia (www.organsenigallia.com) e dei Vespri d’Organo a Cristo Re a Pesaro (www.vespridorgano.it). Nell’anno 2005 hanno inciso in prima registrazione mondiale le Sonate a quattro mani di Giovanni Morandi (Etichetta Tactus - Bologna) in collaborazione con l’edizione critica curata dal musicologo Gabriele Moroni (Ut Orpheus – Bologna).

Federica Iannella lives in Senigallia (Central Italy), her home town. She studied the organ and composition with Professor M. Arlotti at the Conservatory G. Rossini in Pesaro. Additional studies followed with well-known artists, where she gained her large repertory reaching from Italian Renaissance to French and German romanticism. Of particular importance for her artistic formation were the studies with Wolgang Zerer in Hamburg.
She takes part in important European Festivals and appears together with various choral and orchestral groups, such as the Orchestra Regionale Toscana, Prague Chamber Choir, Compagnia de' Musici di Parma with whom she interpreted almost all of the Haendel organ concertos.
Together with the Orchestra Camerata del Titano she recorded the Laudate pueri KV 600 by Antonio Vivaldi and in August 1997 she played the first performance of the "Petite Messe Solenelle" by Rossini in the chamber music version of 1864 at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; in May 2005 she recorded, in word premier recording, “Sonate per organo a Quattro mani” by Giovanni Morandi, (cd tactus 771301) an important composer of Italian romantic music for organ.
Apart from her extensive concert and educational work, Federica Iannella as also a musicologist graduated at the University of Bologna and e.g. translated, into modern note script and performed a new instrumental arrangement, the Opera "Elena da Feltre" by S. Mercadante, performed in 1997 at the Wexford Opera Festival (Ireland) and the opera “Il trionfo delle belle” by Stefano Pavesi, performed in 2004 at the Rossini Opera Festival.
She is also regular organist and artistic director of the Church of Santa Maria della Neve in Senigallia, and is one of the teachers of the Accademia Organistica, which she founded in association with the Diocese.
Giuliana Maccaroni was born in Pesaro in 1971.
Graduated from the G. Rossini Conservatorium of Pesaro, where she studied Organ and organ composition with Maestro Marco Arlotti, with top marks and honours. After further study she obtained a Diploma in Harpsichord and a degree in Musicology (specialization in music library science) at the University of Cremona. In addition, she gained a Magisterial organ degree at the Conservatorium of Vicenza with Maestro Roberto Antonello.
Giuliana Maccaroni has taken courses on organ methodology and execution and interpretation in Italy and abroad with the following well-known Masters: L. Ghielmi, E. Kooiman, H. Vogel, M. Radulescu, W. Zerer, Ch. Stembridge, M.C. Alain, L. Lohmann.
Giuliana Maccaroni has been awarded two scholarships and won numerous prizes at national and international contests as follows: National organ competition “Città di Viterbo 1996” (1st prize); Sixth Competition for the best graduates from the Conservatories of Pesaro and Florence 1997 (1st prize); First Competition “Best Italian Graduates in 1996” (1st prize, and CD recording); National Organ Competition “F. Tomasin” of Perteole, Udine, 1998 (3rd prize); Twelfth National Competition of music execution “Città di Cento”, Ancient Music Section, 1998 (special prize awarded by the jury); International Organ Competition “G. Callido”, Borca di Cadore, 1999 (3rd prize); First International Organ Contest of Magadino, Switzerland, 2002 (semifinalist).
Giuliana Maccaroni has a busy curriculum, both as a soloist and in ensemble playing at important Italian and European Festivals, (Organ duets, orchestral groups choirs and chamber music).
She has made the first-ever recording of Giovanni Morandi’s Sonatas for organ four-hands with the Organist Federica Iannella, for Tactus Publishing House
She also recorded Tactus, Rossini’s Ouvertures for organ four-hands. Giuliana Maccaroni is the regular organist of Christ the King Church, Pesaro, with a Mascioni historical organ. In this church she is the artistic director of the international organ festival “Vespri d’organo a Cristo Re”. She has also taught at the Conservatories of Fermo and Reggio Calabria and at the officially recognized Musical Institutes of Modena and Reggio Emilia
