Incredibile la rendering di questo old time classic del progressive da parte della sacra trimurti formata dal sommo Antonio Bartoccetti on guitars, Rexanthony al piano and keyboards e dall'affascinante Nora Dei alle vocals.Proprio la sofferta performance di quest'ultima,non fa certo rimpiangere il pur grande Greg Lake ,grazie al pathos interpretativo che trasforma l'originale enfasi sinfonica del cantato, in un salmodiare dolcissimo e struggente .La produzione e l'arrangiamento ad opera della Bartoccetti family,dona poi al tutto un angosciante flavour gothic che trascende il mero interpretare un simile capolavoro ,per crearne un altro di pari grandezza emotiva………

Dopo i lusinghieri risultati di One I Love , brano ripreso da Blacklady Kiss della cult band Jacula, inserito nell'album Pre Viam, la vocalist NORA DEI torna sul campo di battaglia con l'ambizioso progetto Epitaph, brano composto all'epoca dagli avanguardisti Fripp, Lake & company, alias King Crimson.
Il Nora Dei remake andra' a far parte dell'album (forma fisica e digitale) dell'artista sigillato come "Gothic Trance", prodotto dal team Musik Research e previsto per il 12-12-12. Le tastiere di Epitaph e l'intera produzione in studio e artistica, sono opera del musicista Rexanthony che fra un rave olandese e un tour in Inghilterra, ha trovato il tempo per realizzare Epitaph, inciderlo, dirigere la voce dell'artista e crearne tutti gli arrangiamenti ad hoc.
Epitaph è una scelta più che coraggiosa che emozionerà tutti i sostenitori sine die del "progressive" più puro; il risultato e' un singolo all'altezza del mito..
Esistono molti rmx and remakes di Epitaph, alcuni molto interessanti fra i quali Kirlian Camera, Fern Knight, In The Woods ...., ma questo di Nora Dei e' effettivamente molto coinvolgente.
Ogni nota al posto giusto, la voce dell'artista e' sempre creativamente modulata, ogni intervento di tastiere e piano notevole: pittoriche le chitarre acustiche e non da meno quelle heavy tipicamente ritmiche. Con Epitaph remake ci si immerge nel sogno mitico e ancora terribile ...... un viaggio nella CONFUSION resa tale dai contrasti sociali del 1969 che i King Crimson, unici, avevano gia' saputo evidenziare (...the wall on which the prophets wrote Is cracking at the seams .... the fate of all mankind I see Is in the hands of fools ... ) contrasti ancora drammaticamente attuali. E' una versione definibile progressive con contaminazioni gothic, dark, anche quando le ambientazioni sono illusoriamente celestiali.

After the gratifying results of the single 'One I Love' (version of the song 'Blacklady Kiss' from the album Pre Viam by cult band Jacula), vocalist NORA DEI returns to centre stage with the ambitious project 'Epitaph', the song by avant-garde Fripp, Lake & Company, a.k.a. King Crimson.
Nora Dei's remake can be found on the "Gothic Trance" artist's upcoming album (digital format), produced by Musik Research and scheduled for release on 12-12-12. The entire studio and artistic production of 'Epitaph' including the keyboards are the work of musician Rexanthony, who has found time between a Dutch rave and UK tour to make 'Epitaph', recording it, directing the singer, and authoring all the arrangements.
'Epitaph' is a courageous album, one which will thrill all the purest "progressive" fans; the result is a single of epic proportions…
While there are numerous remakes and remixes of Epitaph, some quite interesting, including those by Kirlian Camera, Fern Knight, and In The Woods…, Nora Dei's version is truly compelling.
Each note is perfect pitch; the artist's voice is always creatively modulated and every keyboard and piano phrase significant. The acoustic guitars are gorgeous, as are the typically strong rhythms. With this 'Epitaph' remake, you sink into a mythical and tremendous dream … a journey into the CONFUSION generated by the social conflict of 1969 which only King Crimson knew how to highlight (...the wall on which the prophets wrote Is cracking at the seams .... the fate of all mankind I see Is in the hands of fools ...) a conflict which is even more dramatic today. It is a progressive version with gothic dark influences, even when the setting is deceptively heavenly.

Esce per l'etichetta alternativa Musik Research il singolo "One I Love" (febbraio 2012) della cantante-pianista Nora Dei. Il brano è un rifacimento della mitica "Blacklady Kiss" presente nell'album "Pre Viam" prodotto dal chitarrista Antonio Bartoccetti che per l'occasione, oltre la sua inseparabile Gibson, ha inserito nella nuova versione anche un'ulteriore parte melodica costruita appositamente per la giovane vocalist. Particolarissimo, devasatante ma sognante e deliziosamente dark, il suono di Nora Dei si segnala come una mistura gotico-magica, unica fra background classicistico messo a bollire in una vecchia pentola stracolma di emozioni celtiche e sensazioni tipicamente gotiche e malinconiche, piene di lacrime e pioggia. Il brano (come tutti gli ultimi brani di Bartoccetti), prima di essere stato inciso, ha goduto di una sua propria sceneggiatura flmografica e di una ben definita fonte di ispirazione.... per questo è stato realizzato il video omonimo. Il segreto dell'artista è il senso di mistero che riesce a trasmettere con la sua particolarissima voce, è l'alone di tristezza-amore che avvolge la sua musica, per indurre nell'ascoltatore un irrazionale stato di trance... l'album si chiamerà "Gothic Trance" (12-12-12) e conterra' anche brani composti dall'artista. E' un lavoro anche "visivo" che, grazie al pianoforte con "fermo immagine", entra nella mente e basta un ascolto "coinvolto" per calarsi nello stoner frammentato, visionario, esoterico, oscuro, della giovanissima artista. "One I Love", grazie alle joint venture in area digitale della Musik Research, è presente naturalmente su iTunes e nella maggior parte dei portali musicali internazionali. La song e' la mitica EPITAPH, pietra miliare storica dei pionieristici King Crinson capitanati, all'epoca, da Robert Fripp, uno dei chitarristi dell'avanguardia internazionale. Nel Luglio 2012 Nora Dei esce con Epitaph remake, dopo molti turni in studio di incisione con una voce coinvolgente e con la produzione del musicista Rexanthony che ha preteso tutto da lei onde realizzare un singolo all'altezza del mito. A born singer, with a trail of lost auditions behind her. A life full of "curve balls" she meets head on. Finding inspiration in dance and theatre, but then falling into depression. Believing in her own voice, in the communicative power of music.
Hoping for that perfect true love which never arrived and so giving herself to a forbidden one. Then, turning to singing, participating in pointless competitions, putting herself out there. Studying singing, sacred music, piano, harmony, and classical guitar..thinking something was bound to happen, sooner or later.
Performing for just a few bloody Euros, covering the great female vocalists like Amy Lee, Carly Smithson, Tarja, Epica, Loreena McKennitt...with interpretations approaching those of the divas themselves.
But in 2011 the miracle, the breakthrough: she is noticed in a dive piano bar while singing Evanescence: now she has a record contract in hand and a clear project in mind: a collection of songs to showcase her sublime voice: a voice which has already been described as an original hybrid of Goth, Mystical, Operatic, Metal, and Doom....a fusion which the new generation loves. Nora Dei makes her entrance, surreptitiously: her voice is her signature. She still loves Evanescence, We are the fallen, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Epica, Lacuna Coil, Antonius Rex, ...but now, next to them in the music world, you'll also find her.
